Picking up your campervan rentals from Auckland Airport

Once you have booked, you will be provided with instructions on how to collect your vehicle. In most cases, you simply need to make your way to the supplier depot at the agreed-upon time. If you are flying into Auckland Airport International terminal, the motorhome rental depot isn’t likely to be on the airport grounds, but at a location nearby. You will be provided with a free shuttle service from the airport to the Auckland branch location from some motorhome suppliers. The shuttle runs approximately every 20–30 minutes from the off site transfer zone located near the transport hub, just a short walk past the pedestrian crossing outside the arrivals area.

Details on how to get the free shuttle will be provided to you when you book. The team at the depot will then take you through the vehicle’s features and make sure you have all the information you need for an enjoyable trip. Note that this process can sometimes take up to 45 minutes, so allow extra time when collecting your vehicle.

After-hours pick up guidelines

If you are planning to pick up your campervan rental outside of business hours, or your flight is late, let the Auckland depot know in advance. Keep in mind that most depots close on Christmas Day, so plan accordingly to avoid any delays with the last airport pick up. Some suppliers also offer secure parking for your car at their depot during the entire rental period—perfect for those arriving by personal vehicle.

If you are flying in from a long overseas flight, it’s best to pick up your camper after a night of rest before setting off on your New Zealand road trip.

Returning your Auckland campervan hire

For drop-off, simply return the campervan to the depot and take the shuttle back to the airport. Both pick-up and drop-off services are available only during business hours, so plan accordingly.
